Tutustu Kobyn kehittämään länsiafrikkalaiseen tanssiin! Kurssilla tehdään stepsejä ja lyhyttä koreografiaa :)
Afro jazzé or djazzé as it's sometimes called has nothing to do with jazz-music, even though musicality is one of the keywords for learning this dance. Jazzé originates from Gabon, Central Africa. This dance was created by Koby Badja around 2005 and it’s based on buzz-dance.
Afro Jazzé involves the whole body and includes fast moves, rotations and side steps. Movements faithfully follow the music. Percussions are the powerful punchlines of the story told in the choreo. Hands are typically used to express feelings.
Key steps are called djazzé, ndoss, kata, dona and pas de riche.
Koby has danced since early teenage years. First in his homeland Gabon and Benin, later in France where he is currently based. He has developed jazzé further, created new steps and given the style a modern twist. However not forgetting the roots and ancestral honor.
Koby is inspired by Gabonese music and likes to use it in choreographies. Though the style can be danced to almost any style of rhythmic music. In Koby's words, jazzé means dancing for feeling and the heart, dancing with love and joy. A very warm welcome to all! <3
